Thanks Frank, I painted this as a variation of the "Foursome" pears done earlier this winter. While the first one seemed to paint itself, I struggled with this one because my mind kept going back to the first version. Once I made myself focus on just what was before me I relaxed and here are the results. I like it alot.
Great work, Jennifer! By the way, the best Christmas of my life was spent in Ketchum. I LOVE Ketchum. Grumpy Burgers!!!! Thanks for visiting my blog, too. :o)
In the beginning of this blog I set a goal of one small painting a day for one year. While I didn't reach my goal, I did complete 125 small daily paintings. I still enjoy the tiny format and do them when I can.
This is my 30th year as a professional painter and yet with this new goal I feel like it's a new beginning. I am very excited. Each daily painting will be auctioned on eBay starting at $100. So, without further ramblings I launched the first of 365 little oils on October 22, 2007!

great colors and brushwork. I like the little bit of one more off to the side.

Nice one! I like the way the pears are crowded together, like they are all trying to push to the front.
OOoh it's different from your others! I like it a lot. They are so plump....
Thanks Terry,
I am finding that the square format is the ideal shape to design within. You can break more of the rules and get away with it.
Thanks Katie May,
Pears do have many planes, some very subtle. Plump is what I was after!
