" Lemons & Old Graniteware Colander"
Oil
5.5" x 8"
I am very happy with how this painting turned out. I try to get the canvas covered as fast as I can so I can begin making more accurate comparisons of value and color that I see in the still life set up. And I love the light/dark patterns created by the holes in the colender, fun to see and figure out how to paint.

Getting the canvas covered is the trick. Sometimes when I'm painting, I'm saying to myself, "cover the canvas, cover the canvas.
It makes all the difference in how you proceed. But, do I still get caught up in details? Yes.
These paintings are nice.
