Bing-A-Ling, oil on gessoboard

" Bing-A-Ling "
Oil
6"x6"
I really like how this little painting came out. I wanted a very simple set-up, no fabric like I usually do. The surface the cherries are on is corrogated cardboard, with red paper lining the right wall and green on the back wall to reflect color. I hope to post at least three little guys over the next week.
Thanks for looking today!

I like this painting, too! The composition is wonderful and your rendering of the cherries is perfect. That red shadow is yummy, too.

the perspective on this one is great, really pulls you in. i give you a A for 'very creative use of corrugated cardboard'!! i never would have guessed that's what the was, you chose a lovely warm palette for this painting! ...i have several cherry trees in my yard, they have a huge bounty of tiny cherries this year, slightly tangy but good, but i can't reach them!!!

Thanks Susan. I worried that the red shadow was going to be too much red, but that is what I saw. The shadow in the bowl, right side is a bit more green that the photo shows to balance all the red tones.

Thanks Christine, You'd better borrow a ladder and get up there and pick some of those cherries! There is something so cheery about cherries. Maybe they were originally called cheeries!

love it.
Looks like wood before you gave it away. Also, reflecting the complimentary colors off the setup works wonderfully.

Thanks, Mary. My set-up box has two walls that I can line with fabric, papers, etc. to bounce color onto the objects.
