I liked the simplicity of the striped cloth with the stack of white bowls and two little limes. I found these old restaurante bowls on eBay. If there are any fresh cherries in the market today I will get a few to put in another little bowl I recently found. I imagine at our grocery store which locals have called the most expensive in the USA that the cherries will be $10 a pound. I only need a few, and I don't want to wait til summer to paint what I have in mind. I will also look for some well shaped lemons. Seems I have become the queen of daily paintings of lemons. Paint in a series, paint what you know!

All Hail the Queen ;)
You bet!
Wonderful as always!
Thanks, Mary. The first go I just had one lime then I saw that something else was needed so added the one near the bottom of the painting. Some of these bowls are so thick and heavy! I love white dishes of any kind.
This is a fantastic painting. I really love it's simplicity of colour. The colours are bold, if minimal. It is a very pleasant image to behold.
Thanks, Ana. In looking at this painting today with a fresh eye I am liking it better. I wasn't crazy how the little bowl on the right turned out, but what I see now is there is lots of tension in this painting. Bowls pushing in on each other, the edges of the painting where the bowls are cut off tend to "contain" them in a squished way. The lime at the bottom is the "lead in" for the eye to enter the painting. So, I guess I'm satisfied and ready to move on to the next. I think I like loser arrangements than this, though.
Your citrus paintings are always so great!!
Thanks, Sandy. I find limes more challenging then lemons. But I do love that touch of deep bluish green that limes have, too. Thanks for visiting.
