"F" is for Fennel..in the ABC Mini painting challenge. I enjoyed painting the soft greens contrasting with the dark gray violets. I have a very good Italian recipe for this veggie..basically, sliced in thin shreds layered in a shallow baking dish. Pour half & half over, salt & pepper, then a layer of parmesan cheese..bake a 350 for about 45 minutes or until cheese is golden and cream is bubbly.

Yum! I love simple recipes. My husband loves fennel, but I don't cook it much. I'll have to try this.

I do like the colors in this...aqua and lime green are a beautiful duo.

Thank you for the recipe

I've been timid about trying fennel. But, after seeing your wonderful painting, I'm going to give it a try. I like the way you've huddle it into the corner with the reflection peeking outward.

Thanks, Virginia! I increased the intensity of the blue-green in the shadow on the fennel at the very end when deciding what to do to make it all more interesting. Also, I got rid of picky details by just taking a brush and "hitting" areas here and there. Hope you enjoy the recipe.
