" Lemons & Lime I "
Oil
6" x 6"
This has been a very busy two weeks with a house guest and my son home for college break. Skiing is excellent and appetites huge. Guess who is chief cook and bottle washer? I do love it, but my studio kept calling to me. Anyway, that's the excellent reason I have for not posting many oils lately.
I so enjoyed painting these lemons and lime today. What is it about lemons, their sunny color or maybe how we use them for flavor in drinks, sweets, etc. A happy fruit! Hope you like the results. This happens to be my favorite dish towel, too.

Just beautiful.

Thanks Mary,
This one painted itself, a rare occurence.

You do the most gorgeous lemons and limes, you can smell and taste them right off the screen!

Thanks Terry,
Mixing the various greens on a lime isn't easy...there are yellow greens and blue greens, too. Because citrus has a dimpled surface, I start darker than I want to end up, trying to remember that detail in surface areas happens in the half tone areas, not the shadows or light areas.

Love this one and the little limes one two posts down. That has some killer reflections in that bowl.
Great stuff. Skiing? It is hard to remember that some friends still have a lot of snow. It is in the high 80's here and I am in full spring mode.
