Still Life Bartlett Pears & Fiestaware Plate

" Pears & Fiestaware Plate "
Oil
6"x6"
Five pears on a vintage Fiestaware plate. There is red paper lining the right wall bouncing red onto the pears and plate. The fabric is an old dish towel. As many of my frequent readers know I love using stripes to direct the viewer's eye.
I have recently joined the Studio Artists of Xanadu Gallery in Scottsdale, AZ. You can see my work there. I have recently updated my web site, too.

Very nicely painted! love your color palette and the way you picked up the red from the cloth in the pears. Strong composition!

Thanks, Gwen. I'm always surprised when I go to mix the color for reds in bright light! My mind wants to mix it too dark..got to trust the eyes!

Really like your color choices. Really inspiring blog. I especially like your shoe series.

Thanks, Tonya. The baby shoes were fun to paint. I like using the plate glass to set props on creating reflections for simple designs. Thanks for visiting today.
