" Chiquita Bananas "
Oil
6" x 8"
My husband came home with this perfect bunch of bananas. There were six and I had to eat one because it was too perfect! Bananas are not easy to arrange, I liked this view the best. Next, I will take the bunch apart...bananas on the loose.
Available $550

Thanks, Terry.
Usually the first thing I do is take the labels off the fruit, but with Chiquita Bananas that seemed sacrilegious. Besides, it adds a much needed color note.

Great bananas! I too love that you left the sticker on, it gives them character. bananas are so difficult to paint, great job!

I like the strength of color in your shadows on the bananas and the cloth at the ends of the bananas. Your edges are great...something I battle all the time. Good painting!

I love this. You nailed every aspect of this painting and of course you leave the sticker on for effect. You do brilliant cloth patterns.

Thanks Dean,
This daily painting has given me practice on edges, something every artist seems to wrestle with now and then, me more "now" than "then". But, I think I am finally getting it. I don't worry about them til the very end and I go back and soften some and sharpen others. I will admit, too, that I will take a large brush and go over areas where I've "dabbled" too much with a small brush, too many strokes, etc. and lightly touch the paint to effect a large brush stoke. There, I made a confession.

Thanks Mary,
I do love fabrics, especially simple tea towels. You can bend fabric to your will using the folds and creases to lead the eye.
